Dr. Showstack’s research focuses on evaluating the relationships among organizational characteristics, costs, clinical outcomes, and patient satisfaction; the impact of policies related to undergraduate and graduate health professions education; strategic planning in health care organizations; and the assessment of medical interventions and technologies. As
Co-CIO of UCSF’s Office of Academic and Administrative Information Systems, he is responsible for directing the development and implementation of strategic educational and research information system initiatives.
