  • US Tobacco Control Policy Making
  • tobacco industry advertising tactics and tobacco control counter-marketing strategies
  • addressing vulnerabilities of marginalized populations
  • cultural and emotional aspects of smoking denormalization
 

Mr. Hendlin focuses at UCSF on tobacco control public policy, strategy, and organizing, and researches how the tobacco industry employs scientifically developed emotionally-based marketing techniques to override individuals' rational decision-making faculties to recruit new generations of smokers.
